Categories not in order 5 Years, 8 Months ago Karma: 1
I have the latest version of Media Library Pro (just got it yesterday). It is working pretty well, though I have some suggestions. However, the main issue I have right now is that the subcategories in the front end are not the same as in the backend.

I have arranged the order of the categories and subcategories as I would like them to be in the front end, but when I look at the front end, the main categories are in order, but the subcategories are not.

They are not necessarily in order of how they were added, either.

Any solution to this?

Thanks!

I am sorry,

That must work.
Do you can give admin access to yours site ?
Account details you can send to ordasoft "contact" form.

Thanks,
Andrew

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Because it is an organizational website and there is personal information of many of the registered users, I am afraid I am not authorized to give access to the administrator area. I would be happy to provide screen shots or try anything you suggest. I have tried reordering them to see if I could make some change, but it does not seem to make a difference in the sub-categories.

Odd that it works in the main categories, but not the sub-categories. No other module I have seems to exhibit this behavior, either.

Thanks!

May be you can create some test site where you will show that.

Please careful check backend category manager. There ordering column - in it you with help arrow - can change category ordering in parent category.

Thanks,

Thanks, I will see if I have time to do a test site.

I have tried changing the order with both the up arrow and down arrow in the list of categories and with the dropdown menu when editing a particular category. Nothing I do changes the order of the subcategories.

Aha! I just discovered something. Actually, when I select the front end option to "Show subcategory:", the subcategories are in proper order in the list that shows all the categories. In other words, the "tree" view works - Categories and subcategories all in their proper order.

However, when I click on a Category and it lists the subcategories, then the view is no longer in order, whether or not I have the "show subcategory" option chosen or not.

I also should not that I have a menu item that links to a subcategory. Here, as well, the subcategory is not in order.

So it has something to do with the subcategory list, alone.
