Styles lost on mobile

I'm using the blank OS template (3.3 Oct.27 v.1). When I view the site on a small screen (about 340px and smaller), all of my own custom styles disappear. Only the plain default styles are there (all black/grey, no coloured text other than links, etc). The images are still there, but the text styling is missing. This happens on my SG3 phone and I can simulate it by resizing my desktop browser width.

I've put my own custom styles in a separate CSS file that I linked into Index.php. My styles are visible until I shrink the browser to about 340 wide. Firebug shows my styles being used for 341+ wide, but completely missing when the screen is smaller - in other words, they're not being overridden by the default styles; they're simply not there. All styles showing are from bootstrap.css, style.css and the in-page styles generated by the template.

I've looked through Bootstrap.CSS for clues as to why this happens, but I don't see any reason why my own CSS should not override styles in the small screen size, just like it does in the wider screen sizes. I'm not using @media queries (with rare exceptions that don't involve overall text or heading styles). I even tried putting @media all around my styles, hoping it would override whatever is disabling it from bootstrap.css, but nothing changed.

Can someone please help me figure out what the problem is? If you need to view the site, I'll have to send you access by email since this is a development site accessible only by login.

Many thanks in advance for your help. Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to be clear about the problem.

I should also mention that I had installed a previous version of this template on a previous development installation of my site (25_3x_Jan10). I don't get this problem on that site - only on the updated version (3.3_Oct27_v1). My site is using Joomla 3.3.6.

Thanks.

Hi Taras,

Thanks for getting back to me. The version I'm working with is the same as the latest download version available for Joomla 3.3. I checked the file dates in both downloads and they're the same.

Hi Tara,

I've sent you the information by email. It looks like the various @media widths specified in bootstrap.css have allowed some screen sizes to slip through the cracks, although why my own CSS wouldn't be picked up I'm not sure.

Thanks for the help!
