i edited the helper.php with the changes you mentioned and it worked, kind of...

out of eight house id's it allowed one house id to be displayed, twice, but would not display any of the other house id's i entered.

also, FYI, after i made the changes to helper.php it killed the links to all the categories in my main menu and i can't get them working again, even tried restoring the changes i made in helper.php, it made no difference, oh well, i'll just rebuild the site and start again, it's all a good learning experience either way.

i still think it's a great extension, just seems to need a little more tweaking, if it's only on my end i'm not sure.

I am sorry, but yours change in helper.php - was can't kill nothing except self module, but for that you was need backup old file.

About yours current error I not understand.
Can you give admin access to yours site and full detail description how i can reproduce that error.
