BookLibary Component Support

Hi there,
I'm on Joomla 4.4.11 and - apparently with no change in the setup - I'm now getting this error:
To display the Joomla Book Library Component, you need install OS Library first

I've also tried to reinstall the component (latest free version download from this site), and I get this error when installing:
Cannot access offset of type string on string

I'm a little bit lost and I would really appreciate every kind of advice pointing me into the right direction.

unfortunately I'm not allowed to grant Admin access to our website to anybody external to our organization. Is there any other way I can get support?
