This is not depend "SQL entities" or not,

Please check any "Show Instance" layout, some "Text field" settings, there you will see - you may connect to it some another layout for redirect.
so when you create "All instance Show layout" you will create:

1. Show Instance - full details layout,
2. Show Instance - short details layout,
3. All instance - and there as attachment "Show Instance" from point 2.
4. In Layout for point 2, for filed like title or Image, you set as redirect layout from point 1
So every user will can from All instance - check full instance details

And exactly same "Parent child", Layout from point 1 or 2 - may show some Parent, so there you may set as redirect some "Parent - child"

as example , You show "All class in school", and when you click on "class" - there class - is parent-child layout - where parent - class details, and child- are student, where every student may be also parent, and connect chain - may be so long as you wish
