The table view order in the backend is not userfriendly. It is useless for a rental system.
One only can see what item (instance) is rented and the apply date for the rental. If I have 10 rentals a day I only can see the rental type. And if I have 10 rentals of the same vehicle types it is confusing. Useless!!!!
A professional rental system needs more:
At least:
1) Name of the person who rented the instance
2) Start of rental and end of rental which must be sortable and not the date when he has sent the rental request
3) user e-mail is useless when the renter doesn't log in to rent an item. It has to be eliminated from the order backend view
4) Number of items he has rented

Now You may see details about every order, order request and instance for which this order created in "Order details"
It is not possible i click through every order to check the order (rental) if i search for a specific rental (order). I don't have a field that the order refers to, except the etinity content id of the row.
At least it should have a name of the person who rented the vehicle and the rental start and rental end. And this should be sortable as well.
I hope you understand that the order table is insufficient for rental purposes.
I have created an excellent overview for all rentals with help of CCK Custom SQL Entity and show all instances layout in the frontend. But unfortunately it is not editable.
