How do I make it so that the home page of my website www.bigelktv.com gives options to login or register?
In OrdaSoft Joomla Membership component exist login module
In Simple memberhip login module - you will see links for Create User Account, Login to site, Lost password and Forgot Login
Also you may create menu for Create User Account, Login to site
How do I provide an error message when someone attempts to create a duplicate account?
At time create "User account" exist check for user name and user email impossible create account if these fields already used on your joomla site.
How do I provide an option to pay using PayPal without a paypal account? I do not wish to use 2checkout.
Payment system you may use only in Pro version of OS Joomla Membership
For select paypal as payment method - you need add payment Paypal Plugin. So if you no need 2Checkout - you not use this plugin.
Payment with login to Paypal - is default method, It is a best method, because after login - client may pay as with help Credit card and also with help money from paypal account.
If you need have payment only with help Credit Cards, without login to PayPal, you need select this in Simple membership PayPal plugin, and You must have PayPal Pro account (Paypal support this only for limited countries set).
Bad side there - after payment - you have't any info about payed client. Only data about his credit card.
