Hello,
as there was no way to simply upgrade the component from 2.0 to 3.0 without vanishing data at least from the frontend, I tried to export the data from the old component and reimport into a fresh installed new version.

Alas, subcategories are mixed up, losing their parent, being assigned to false parents or no parent at all.
Furthermore, about 35 books got lost during the reimport.

What can be done to make a stable upgrade?

My export file is attached.

Regards,
HH

As the text in the first post is vanishing since the file is attached, I try a second post to make it visible:

Hello,

please first of all go through your XML file - and remove ampersand ( & ) from every <title> and <manufacturer>

like
<manufacturer>Uhle & Kleimann</manufacturer>

replace to
<manufacturer>Uhle Kleimann</manufacturer>

and try import again

Thanks,

Hello,

tried your suggestion.
Changed nothing, subcategories still mixed up, some book lost on import.
