Cannot create configuration file

Cannot create configuration file 14 Years, 5 Months ago

I have successfully installed Booklibrary 1.5.2.5 Basic and will most likely buy Pro version once I can see it working properly.
When I try to modify Frontend or Backend settings I get message "Cannot create configuration file".
I presume there is a permission problem in the Lend Request feature as well as a test request through the frontend did not register.
I am running Joomla 1.5.14.
I have tried changing permission settings on folders but nothing seems to work. Where should this configuration file be located? I have searched the on line manual but there is no mention of setting folder permissions.
I really need this component to work as it appears to be everything I need - especially in the Pro version.
Thank you for any help.

Hi,

Please give admin access to yours site or yours demo site and I will try check where error.

"Lend Request feature" - configure through Setting in backend. I think it will work good after we resolve - error before.

Please send yours account info through Contact form.

I have fixed problem re "Can't Create Configuration File" by setting permissions on the file:
administrator/components/com_booklibrary/admin.booklibrary.class.conf.php to 775

Then when testing Lend Request I got error (in the server error log) that:
File does not exist: ....../includes/js/dhtml.js

After much searching, I found a copy of this file for download at:
www.koders.com/javascript/fid2E30A938F8C...160C.aspx?s=document
(If anyone can't find it, you can contact me through this forum.)
This got rid of that error but the lend request still isn't registering.....
Can anyone help?
Thanks

Thanks Andrew - Lend requests working now after un-installing, re-downloading, and re-installing. And of course changing permissions on administrator/components/com_booklibrary/admin.booklibrary.class.conf.php to 775

As I will need email to admin functionality, I will now most likely be purchasing the Pro version. I presume the email address for 'admin' is a 'booklibrary' admin and not the 'site' admin.

Is there any thought of pulling in the details of a logged in user when submiting lend requests? ie name and email address.

Looks like a great component - thanks for your help.

Hi,

When some user do "lend request" - support user or users who emails set for take so requests notification - take email - where they see - who want take book (user name), But full details admin can see from Lend request manager.
