When I'm making a to BookLibery Pro I can select either Books or Categories. I like to make a menu link direct to a specified category. Is this possible? If so, how? If not, why not?

Hello,

You need in Book library go to some category, save link to that category, after that gow to Joomla menu creation and create menu item to external link - and set link what you saved before.

Exactly so you may create menu to any books search result
