BookLibary Component Support

Hello,

Such a great component,

But I can't save any changes in booklibrary config when I try to change the frontend users configuration.

Warning: fopen(./components/com_booklibrary/admin.booklibrary.class.conf.php) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/www/.../web/administrator/components/com...ary.class.others.php on line 152
Cannot create configuration file.

I no longuer have access to suggest books from frontend,

I'm on joomla 1.5.25

Any clues?

That error ofthen happened if some body manual change file/folder permissions.

Please check below file permission:
{yours site}/administrator/components/com_booklibrary/admin.booklibrary.class.conf.php

Please check permissions for that file folder.

Please try set it exactly like for other folder and files. You may do trhat with help cPanel or ftp.

Also you may ask about that from yours host provider

Thank you so much for the answer.
I double checked on the file permissions, with FileZilla and set all folders to 755 and files to 644, just as all other components installed by Joomla backend.

But when I try to save the configuration, I still get the same white page with the message:

error with file Rights,
Now Yours Web server can't rewrite that file.

Please write about that to yours host provider and ask where error.

I called my provider and the rights and permissions of the files are like all of the folders and files installed by Joomla. Error still shows.
I think I'd rather uninstall the booklibrary pro component and reinstall it.
Can you indicate if there are other files or folders to detete than components/com_booklibrary and administrator/components/com_booklibrary?
And what entries to remove from database table components or other database entries and/or tables?

I recently bought this component, is there a fresh updated version for joomla 1.5 and 1.7 available for clients?

For try fix permission error you may try:
You may try update from yours archive only folder:
administrator/components/com_booklibrary

If that not help, please reinstall component.
If that also not help - please write to us.


For migrate from Joomla 1.5 to Joomla 1.7
You need:
backup all yours files and folders, and do full books export.

After install Book library to Joomal 1.7

Please recover folders:
{yours site}/components/com_booklibrary/covers
{yours site}/components/com_booklibrary/ebooks

and do full books import
