Free version should not mean, a prelude to extract dollars for needed functionality. If its FREE then make it a useful tool. If you wish to have a trial then do so.

I do loss confidence when I see these tactics being deployed , it does not give me a warm and fuzzy feeling about the developer. I certainly have no issues in buying quality work and even expanding the relationship to maybe include custom stuff.

But to dangle a candy under my nose so that you may entice me to buy a working copy of the extension IMHO is not conducive to good business..
