I installed your component and tried to make a teacher-student tree just like a family tree. The problem is, I cannot figure out how to display all students of a teacher automatically.

I created a teacher. Then I created several students and linked them to that teacher. So far so good. Worked fine. But how can I manage, that on the teacher’s detail page all his students are displayed? He has between 10 and 20 students and I want to generate a automatic list of all of them. Your example in your documentation looks like each and every child must be set manually to each father and mother. But this is complicated and can cause a lot of mistakes. The easier way would be if you only have to select father and mother (teacher) and then on the father’s (teacher) page all children are generated automatically that have selected this person for father (teacher). You understand? Is that possible with your component?

The next step would be grand father (teacher’s teacher) and grandchild (student of student)

When you create teacher-student tree with help OrdaSoft Website builder, first you need check our documentation: build a family tree in your website
There after you "Creating the connection between the main person and his relatives" in "Add Instance layout". In "family tree website" we do same connection in "Show Instance" layout. So as result every person you see with his relatives.

But when you have parent-child items where to 1 parent connected very many child. For that we have "Show Parent child" layout.
In Website Builder you create it exactly as "Show All instances" layout or as "Show category" layout.
To "Show Parent child" You add fields for parent entity, and the child you add as "attachment show instance" layout, which we will loop. So you easy may create teacher-student tree

I made with help Website builder it with „show parent child“ layout, but it still does not work perfect.

The task is this:

Person D has 3 teachers (A, B, C) and is himself the teacher of 5 students (E, F, G, H, I). I would like to display it like the screenshot:


I could only display it with parent-child-layout like this:


Can you see the difference? The problem with your layout is, that students and teachers of D are mixed together in the same block. But I want to separate them. Your component seems not to differ between parents and children, it just puts all relatives together. Can it differ between children and parents and display them in separate blocks like I showed you in my first picture?

parent-child-layout now look like this:

Please check: better if teachers and students from different User groups, so you not have so many users in add forms. And in show parent-child you may show only 1 teacher and all students.
And you will not have so mix in child-parent layout.
also please check: child-parent - when you show for some parent all same child. Teachear and his students, Student and his subjects, client and his order...

For show structure like you need. You no need uses child-parent layout.
In Website Builder you need create:
1. Entity -> Person (You have it) with all fields for describe person.
2. in "add layout" for person with all fields for person details you need add "Attach Child Enteties" - the "Entity -> Person" ,
You need add it (Entity -> Person) as example as on your image, you add 5 Teachers and 10 students.
So you will can to every person connect till 5 teachers and till 10 students. This is you also have now.
3. You need create "Show Layout for person".
There you exactly as at step2 add "Attach Child Entities", 5 Teachers, and 10 students as on your image.
we in our Website builder show only fields which you fill, so if you show 2 teacher(not 5), we will show only 2 teachers, exactly for students
