I cannot set anymore the access to the field custom code. If I set it to registered or guest or anything else it jumps automatically back to public access after saving the layout.

Sorry, How we may reproduce this ?
The "custom HTML" field in our Joomla Website Builder not have access settings.
This create because you easy may self add access setting or some other setting if set use this field as PHP code

I will check it out again. Before it worked.
If a custom field has no access settings, then it is better not to show the access settings for this field as you did with the CSS layout for this field. It is also not shown.
