I downloaded your component Real Estate Manager basic : com_realestatemanager_3.0_free_2014_02_18.zip. I installed it into Joomla 3.2.2.

When creating an item menu, in Menu Item Type, I can only select ‘All Categories’ in realestatemanager.

I want to show only the rental houses when click on menu item at front-end.
How can I select a sub-category like ‘Rent’?

Hello,

In Real Estate Manage Pro version you may create menu to any category with help Joomla menu manager.

In Real Estate Manage free version - menu to alone category you may create as "External link"

for show property for rent - you no need place property to Rent category, you may place it to any category.
Rent property - that property for what you set "Listing status" -> "For rent"

In Category manager - you may rename any category

Currently, when clicked on menu item 'OrdaSoft Rental', only the Category -- Rent is displayed as shown in S1.
I have to click on Rent on S1 to take me to S2.

I only want to display S2 showing the map and the houses to rent.
I do not want to display page S1 i.e. Category - Rent,

How can I display page S2 straight away when click on menu item 'OrdaSoft Rental'.

or

You need go to last your image, save URL
next in Joomla menu manager create menu as External URL - and add to it url from before point

Thank yo again for your prompt response.

I created an item menu > System Link > External link with the value of the page URL required.

It is all good now. Go straight to S2

I managed to create a menu item type ‘external link’ with url as ‘rent’ page.

I disabled the ‘home’ page. I want to make this external link real estate manager page as featured menu.

As you can see in the screen shot, real estate manager external link type menu item does not allow ‘featured’

How can I make the ‘Rent’ page as default Home page?
