problem with low quality images 9 Years, 10 Months ago

I have an install of realestate manager, there are various places to set image sizes which aren't explained very well. However no matter what sizes I set, the images are uploaded and become very low quality.

The original images are good. The upload image size is set to bigger than the image size needed on the page, and the image to upload is bigger than that. Can you tell me what is wrong please. Also any advice on which image size affects which place as it is only trial and error to find out.

The documentation could be a lot better.
Thanks for your help.

Hello,

For images:

1) Go to the Components > Real Estate Manager > Settings page. - House Page Settings
House Image Settings
You can set main photos size height/width in px

2) 1) Go to the Components > Real Estate Manager > Settings page - Category Page Settings

House photos size - You can set house photos size height/width in px
House gallery photo size - You can set house gallery photos size height/width in px

3) House entry in Real Estate Software

To enter Houses manually in Real estate manager, go to Components > Real estate Manager > Houses in the Joomla Administration backend and Click on the New icon in the top bar then:
In Photos and Documents you can find:
Upload main photo. To upload main photo click the Browse button, than select the necessary photo in your computer.
Click to upload photos for house photo gallery. To upload other photos of house click the Add new photo > Browse buttons and select the photos in your computer.
Upload edocument. To upload edocument click the Browse button, than select the necessary photo in your computer.
Edocument Download Link URL. Here you can specify edocument download link URL

If you face any problems, please contact us through our contact form.

Thanks for your reply. However it is just a repeat of the information in the manual, which as I have already said is not really enough information to explain it properly.
E.g. 1. What is a house page and what image are you referring to. (It seems by trial and error to be the main image on a single property page.)
2. Category settings page (What is this page?) House photos seems to change the size of the house images on the admin/edit house page. Not sure why you'd want to do this.
House gallery photos - this changes the size of the gallery images on a single property page.

That aside, you have not answered the main question which was the point of my post, and that is that real estate manager seems to be compressing images at upload so that they are much lower quality than required. As you can see at this link: bit.ly/1zbrBiT this is a test property and the original image is sharp and very good. This uploaded version is very poor in comparison,as are the large versions of all the house images uploaded. My client is not very happy with this quality and neither am I.

Images uploaded to the joomla media library are perfect. So something is going on that changes the quality of images uploaded via the real estate manager. How can I change this? Is it not possible to upload images to the media library and then access them via real estate manager as this would make sense.

Thanks.

Hello,

You can try to put the size of main image in admin and put (make) the same size for your picture and upload it.

Thanks
