Bug in Search module related to subcategories 6 Years, 10 Months ago
Karma: 0
I found bug in Search module related to categories that have subcategories item.

When I created subcategories, the bug was found in testing when I selecting a category that has a subcategory item has no search results.

For example, In the Search module, if I choose the category Crna Gora and hit search button there are no search results to display but Search result should show apartments from subcategories Budva and Sveti Stefan.

This is not the case now.

Please fix this.

Same domain address.

Thanks

Dear Dejan,

I am sorry, but when you select some category for search in that category, search will do ONLY in selected from you category!!!

Why need option for "select category" at all, if we will search in some other categories ?

Let me explane one more time.

Please see attachment:

Crna Gora = Category 1
Budva = Subcategory 1 of Category 1
Sveti Stefan = Subcategory 2 of Category 1

In Search Module, if I Select Crna Gora, Search result SHOULD INCLUDE Budva and Sveti Stefan because those 2 are subcategories of category 1.

Same for Category 2...

Is this make sense?

Thanks

Hello

In Search Module, if I Select Crna Gora, Search result SHOULD INCLUDE Budva and Sveti Stefan because those 2 are subcategories of category 1.
I am sorry, but if it will work as you described, User will can't do search only in parent category.

I think you didn't understand what I mean.

Let me explain another way.

Category CRNA GORA... Subcategory BUDVA, HERCEG NOVI, etc.. ...

Selecting Category (for example Crna Gora) in that case Search Module checks all and show all Subcategories of Category Crna Gora.

Same thing like you make SELECT ALL and then show.

This is very important not just for me, ask anyone who use this.

Here is short video of the Problem:

If you need more info, please let me know.

Thanks

Dear

I understand what you mean.

But our algorithm works full other. And if now user may searchwes in every category, if we change algorithm - user will impossible do search exactly to some category. So we can't change algorithm for all.

We may propose to you order this as "customization service".
Please write to OrdaSoft contact form (ordasoft.com/contact-us-form) with full details description.
How all must look and work. And we will give to you quota
