hi, when submitting the contact form, I suppose there will be a message displayed, Like "Thank you for your ...", but for some reason, it doesn't display when an enquiry submitted, looks like just got the page refreshed but actually the message has been sent to email already, any idea how to fix it?

I not full understand what you ask. And where what not work ?!
Or That not work in some ours template ?

By default Contact Form - that Joomla built in Contact form - you may configure it in yours admin panel.
Messages what show in Contact for after email send - taked from some Joomla component language file.

For change that messages - you need change it in Joomla language file
