I have just downloaded and installed your module.

I am using this module at the bottom of JEvents listing of an event (see here holisticevents.com.au/view-events/view-e...ore-personal-freedom).

When sharing to Facebook, I only have one image available which is not related to the event. However, the other services like Google, Twitter etc allow me to choose another image of the page so that I can assign the right image for the post.

Can you help? thank you

Hello,

Thank you for your question.

Unfortunately this not depends from OS Comments and Sharing - Joomla social share module. For share images with help Facebook your links need to be flushed before they start working properly. Go to developers.facebook.com/tools/debug, paste your link there, press debug, and then try again sharing it on Facebook. It should work.

If not, give it a few hours and try this again.

More how Facebook works with sharing you can find below

developers.facebook.com/docs/sharing/best-practices

Best Regards,

Hi OrdaSoft,

I also have this problem. The image displayed in the facebook share preview window is not the image in the article. And when shared the image posted is different to the one previewed and still NOT the image in the article! I followed your instructions to Debug the link in facebook but with no luck. I receive this error form the Facebook debugger:

fb:app_id hasn't been included in the meta tags. Specify the app ID so that stories shared to Facebook will be properly attributed to the app. Alternatively, app_id can be set in url when open the share dialog. Otherwise, the default app id( 966242223397117 ) will be assigned.

Can you please help me?

Hello,

try next:
Go to the following page: www.facebook.com/insights

Then use the "Create an App" and "Add your Domain" buttons to generate the app id for your site to be included in the meta tags on your web pages

Thanks

Thanks for your response, but I had already done this and added the App Id code into The Facebook Options of the module.
The App Id is displaying in a script tag in the source code but when I attempt to debug, I continue to get to same error:

fb:app_id hasn't been included in the meta tags. Specify the app ID so that stories shared to Facebook will be properly attributed to the app. Alternatively, app_id can be set in url when open the share dialog. Otherwise, the default app id( 966242223397117 ) will be assigned.

I haven't ever created a Facebook App before. Is it simply to follow the insights link below, then click 'create an app', then select the website icon, enter a name for the new app, Select a category (Apps for Pages?), then 'Create App Id'?

Do we then ignore the SDK for Java script code? I assume this is in your extension.
Then enter the URL of the website?

Is that how we create the Facebook App Id?
