Is it possible to install the map in an article or better yet in smart slider 3?

I can't say about slider.
But in article you very simply may add any module with help short codes: "Joomla load module position"

some like:
{loadposition position,[style]}
or
{loadmodule mod_type,the title,[style]}
or
{loadmoduleid moduleId}

also do you know ? for any Joomla module you may manual type any module position name, and use they at short code "{loadposition position}" in Jomla Article description
