I read the post before but the answer don't fit to my problem.
allow_url_fopen is off due to my provider sees this as security hole. I was recommended to let it set off!
My Amazon-Keys are not old. I register to AWS one hour before I installed the component, then putting in the keys and the error will come up!
any more ideas?

Hello,
With allow_url_fopen is off - that will not work in any case. That important condition: allow_url_fopen is on
Me may rebuild fetch info with help CURL, but you need check support yours provider that library or not.
Also that rebuild will cost some money.

I talked to my provider (which is the german "1und1"
and we switch allow_url_fopen = on via php.ini in the component directory "com_medialibrary".
But the error still comes up.
Are there more directories which need the switch on? Or the whole site?

Hello,
http://www.php.net/manual/en/simplexml.requirements.php
as you can see there are only one requirement - for this function work.
Other if yours host provider close for hosting access to other sites.
Can you give to me admin access to yours site - with that we will can check where error.
