Sorry, I not understand what you mean, and how this must work.

any menu items - you set and configure with help:
admin->Menus->{main menu}

Sorry, i changed the name of the template.

The first menu item is not clickable and not a separator menu type

Do you want do it "clickable" ?
Now it created as External URL with "#" for URL.
If you wish set it as "clickable" you may change this in Joomla -> MenuManager: admin->Menus->{main menu}
Please select for it other menu type
