Hello Andrea,
We have not simple template, we have quick start package, when you install it - you take full site with Simple data, exactly as our demo.
And That Quick Start built base on joomla 2.5.9

Hello,
template was created and checked for other Joomla version.
You may do upgrade, but first please do full site backup(files and database)
In Joomla upgrade some time exist errors
