Hi the latest manual include a brief description of "Search by Map is available for Vehicle Manager:" but there is no mention
of how to enable this. Please could you please provide some steps of how to enable this functionality

Hello,
You need use Location Map module for Vehicle manager component. You can add markers of your vehicles on the map . You can then load these modules in your content pages using {loadposition position}.
In module you need choose Alternative Layout - With-Search and configure as you need.
