VehicleManager component support

I have a client who has an older version of VM with joomla 1.5. I have updated the joomla version
To 2.5 and tried to install the new version of VM. It seems that the old data that my client wanted
To keep is corrupted and may have to be deleted.

My questions

How can I cleanly remove the old unwanted data? SQL or ?

I think he has the VM basic now ? Should I use the new version basic

Is their a new template and site for the VM? What version?

What are the steps for a new install and import or add data and images ?

For delete old data what you no need, best use admin part for Vehicle manager.

Move old vehicle data to new version you may exactly as described in ours backup/recover process:

Most important there are first do database and files backup.

You may do migration as to free and to Pro version Vehicle Manager

you said to do a full database backup goto VM(settingsbackend)and set(update) to Yes.
what exactly does this do and where and what name is the old database stored as?

in the upgrade instructions it states "do a full vehicles import" how is this done? (copy or ?)

If you wish delete some thing in Vehicle manager, you need do that with help vehicle manager

We in database save only path to photos and files. Self files we save on disk in folders:
{yours site}/components/com_vehiclemanager/photos/
{yours site}/components/com_vehiclemanager/edocs/

You may do full site backup, all files and full database. You may do that with some component like "Akeeba", or yours cpanel backep tools, or alone with help FTP and phpmyAdmin - or some other

You need do with help Vehicle Manager - full XML export - if it exist, or XML export for every category.
and save to some place folders:
{yours site}/components/com_vehiclemanager/photos/
{yours site}/components/com_vehiclemanager/edocs/

You need do that for recover yours site if some thing will go not good.
