I checked the forum and there was an official answer from OrdaSoft that BL is compatible with J! 1.6

We not supported that yet, we hardly work for that now !
About free and Pro version:
Yes all free customers can upgrade all ours components free and we try create free version very useful for all !!
Yes, all customers who take Pro version need pay for take next version. (we give 50% discount for upgrade). Yes may be that not trust. Some body need paid, but other take all free.
But we wish as much users, as we can, use best products in world around, also we self wish create so good products. But we continue need have money, for any new features and upgrades (we earn very small and very much do free) !!!
We now have so political, Yes may be we can create some other with other bad or good sides.
But if we will want continue create ours products - we will continue ask money.
And very much other companies work some like we.
But you may propose some other way
