OrdaSoft template Support

Hello,

My server masters directed me to contact You. They said that Your templates have different permissions and it is impossible to use them with our servers. Now I should manually change permissions for all folders and files in Your quickstart packages (folders to 755 and files to 644) because quick start package is packed before in other permissions wich don't work on this server.
I have payed for this template and now I have a problem like this and I'm very angry. Please find out why this problem came out and fix it on Your templates or please give me back my money. It is too much work to change all this permissions on all files and folders which are compressed in Your quickstart packages. If I want to use them I would have to do this with almost all Your templates in other way it's usless for me. Thank You in advance, hope to hear You soon!

Dear user, we first encounter with problem like this. You can view topics on our forum and you didn't find the same problem with our themes. In theme development we have no reason to change permissions.

When files uploading to the hosting, permissions for folders and files automatically set hoster,

and also before we sell themes all our Quickstart packages we upload on our demo hosting, and if there was a problem it was fixed

If You can not fix this problem then Your templates are usless for me and I would like You to give me back the money I have payed for it. If You don't believe me that I have this problem I can give You my server login informations and You can try to install it. Company that provides server space to me is one of the bigest in Croatia so I trust them, and we cooperate for a long time. I never had problems like this and I have used a lot of different joomla templates (commercial and non commercial). If I have payed for Your product then I expect that You provide me with help and support if I need it, at least I had service like that with all other companys that sell templates. I hope You will fix the problem or if You can't than You should give the money back.

Global Estate Template it's one of the most popular RealEstate Template, and if there was a problem like you said, we would already know about it!

Only hoster set permissions for files. you (or your Hoster) need to adjust Apache

You say that it's a first time You encounter this problem, but that doesn't meen anything. I encounter this problem first time either and my company created I don't know how many web sites. We have used a lot of diferent quick start packeges and never had a problem like this. My server administrator said that he never had a problem like this so I think that it is Your problem. He said that permissions are created before quickstart package is made.

I am sorry, please check in google "how at linux set file/folder permissions".
as result you will see: "Only owner, superuser, or root, can change permissions of a file"

Permission on yours host depend from your configuration, configuration your user and configuration HTTPD server.

if will work "permissions are created before quickstart package", and not worke "Only owner, superuser, or root, can change permissions of a file" - you was can't install any extension to Joomla!!!!
How modules, plugins and components you installed before ?!

All rights for files( folders) go from rights what has your HTTPD server.

For mass files( folders) permission change you may use below commands under SSH:

find . -type f -exec chmod 666 {} ;

and

find . -type d -exec chmod 755 {} ;

but please be careful with these commands, Please check folder where from you run that, and please check what permissions must have yours files/folders.
Please read HELP for these command, because if you run it incorrectly - they may kill yours system
