If you say about fields from Vehicle manager(ordasoft.com/vehicle-manager-joomla-automotive-extension)
You may Rename or change (for dropdown) any field with help VehicleManager :: Language Manager,
put any name of custom field in Value constant choose Language and rename as you need

Thanks for the reply, but I didn't mean that. I would like to know if it is possible to convert a TEXT field into a DROP-DOWN field. I would like the "external colors" field to become, for example, as the "Maker" or "Issue year" fields. Thank you!

No, impossible.

You may rename some DROP-DOWN field which no need to you. Or enable in setting some custome-dropdawn fields.

Or Please check our another component CCK - Content Construction Kit ordasoft.com/cck-content-construction-kit-for-joomla.html - there you may create so many fields as you wish
