Go to the Components -> BookLibrary -> Setting Frontend page. You can reach this page either through the top menu or through the horizontal menu bar.

Set the options of Book Library - eBook management software as you want them. The options are fairly self-explanatory. But if you need more information, you can hover with your mouse over the Hint Button in Book Library - Book management software at each option and it will show the tool tip for each option with a short explanation.

    Whether or not to show the user submitted reviews in the frontend.

    Set the user rights level which is allowed to submit book reviews from the frontend. If set to Registered Users, no CAPTCHA will be displayed. If set to Guest Users, CAPTCHA will need to be filled in when submitting to avoid spam entries. If you only use Book Library - Book management software in a controlled LAN environment, you can of course allow everyone to enter book reviews.

  43. Show eBook download license
    Set to YES to show Download license after clicking on a eBook download link. You can change License Text in Language Manager.

  44. Book cover size
    Set a Height and a Width of book cover in px.

  45. Author photo size
    Set a Height and a Width of author photo in px.

  46. Default sort
    Set default sorting for All books layout.

  47. Page items
    Set the number of book items per page.

  48. Authors on the page
    Set the number of authors per page.

  49. Custom Category images
    Set to YES if you want to assign a custom image to every category instead of the standard folder icon. You can then adjust the category images in BookLibrary -> Manage Categories -> Edit -> Select image

  50. Show subcategory
    Set to YES if you want to display subcategories in All Categories layout.

  51. Single Category Layout
    Choose the view (default or list) for Single Category layout

  52. All Category Layout
    Only Default layout at the moment. In future there will be more views for this layout.

  53. Search Layout
    Only Default layout at the moment. In future there will be more views for this layout.

How to install Book Library - Joomla eBook software for create book library website

Book Library is a powerful Joomla eBook software for create online book library website, create public library website, book store, Amazon partner store. This article explains how to install Book Library - software for create book library website for Joomla 3.x and deals with the Book Library Admin menu. After you have downloaded Book Library Management Software from the OrdaSoft website, you can start installation the component.

Check your PHP 5 setup before you install. Book Library will ONLY work when you have PHP5 installed with the CURL, XSL and GD extensions.

In Joomla you can check this in the Administration backend through: System -> System Information. This will tell you everything you need to know about your PHP installation.
If you do not run your own server, check with your provider if:

  1. PHP5 is really activated for your account (many hosting providers have PHP5 available, but have PHP4 active by default!)
  2. The needed PHP5 extensions are all available for you with your hosting account!
See the article PHP5 Extensions for Book Library if you need more explanation on how to set this up. If you have your site with a hosting provider, you may need to ask them to set this up for you.

IMPORTANT:
  • Book Library will check for PHP5 and PHP5-extensions during the installation procedure, so please read the warning screens or result screens carefully and fix any issues mentioned before you go on.
  • Book Library will NOT run under PHP4!
  • Book Library will not function properly without the needed PHP5 ­extensions!

    • Why doesn't Book Library - Joomla book library component, roll back the installation after warnings?

    While we can check for PHP5 and missing needed PHP5-extensions during the installation, it is not possible to roll back an installation once the installation is underway. This is just not possible under Joomla. So the installation will always finish, even when warnings exist! All the more reason to read the installation warning screens carefully.

      If you do get warnings:
    1. Uninstall Book Library
    2. Fix the parts you received warnings about
    3. Install Book Library again

I had a problem where I couldn't get it to fetch information from Amazon. I knew that the problem was hosting related because it worked on another site with a different host. Nevertheless, Ordasoft gave me speedy and thorough support and got it working right. They could have been like many other component developers and told me to talk to my host, but I appreciate that they worked with me. I have not purchased the premium version,but I plan to as soon as its financially feasible. It's not that expensive of a component, though."
